Year 6 Leavers Arrangements & Fundraising

Dear Parents/ Carers,

RE: Year 6 Leavers Arrangements & Fundraising

Firstly, I would just like to say a huge thank you for your support with our Year 6 enterprise project this year! Our tea-towels were very popular indeed! The products have arrived in school and we are currently in the process of distributing these out to all those that have bought them.

As some of you may already be aware, there have been some changes to the Year 6 disco arrangements given recent government guidance. As this is a parent-led event, more details and updates will be given via the parent Facebook group so we would suggest joining to have access to the most up-to-date information: https://www.facebook.com/groups/168439738439626/?ref=share

After our enterprise sales and with the help of our wonderful LSFA, we have now sufficient funds to ensure our Year 6 children can really enjoy their leavers’ celebrations at the end of the year. However, we would like to raise some additional money to cover the costs of some extra treats in the final few weeks e.g. autograph books, rewards and edible goodies!

Therefore, we have come up with an additional fundraiser in Year 6… the Smarties challenge! Each Year 6 child will be given a tube of Smarties to enjoy. Once the Smarties have been eaten and the tube is empty, the challenge is for children to fill their tubes with 20ps and return to school. The money may be earned through jobs, helping out or simply charitable donations from family and friends. Please note this is a voluntary fundraising activity and there is absolutely no pressure to completely fill the tube – every little helps! Once you have filled the tubes as fully as you would like, please return them to school and we will put all proceeds towards the leavers’ celebrations so our Year 6 children have some wonderful memories to cherish forever.

Did you know… if you fill the whole Smarties tube with 20ps, you’ll raise £12 in total?!

The deadline for returning the filled Smarties tube is Monday 5th July. There will also be a small prize for the Year 6 class that raises the most amount of money so please get fundraising!

Our school would like to give you a yummy treat,

so we’re sending you these colourful Smarties to eat!

Keep the tube, don’t throw it away,

do tasks and good deeds to earn your pay.

So come on Year 6 pupils, answer our call,

So we can raise money to make your leavers’ celebrations memorable!

Be a “smartie” and fill your tube with 20ps

And return to school by Monday 5th July please!

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Many thanks in advance for your support – it really is appreciated.
